Grindelwald is a part of the Jungfrau ski region which is comprised of 214 km of ski runs and divided into 3 ski areas: Muren- Schlichthorn, with 55 km of ski runs, First ski area, with 55 km of ski runs, 5 of them are ski routes, and the central ski area, Grindelwald-Wengen, with 104 km of ski runs.

The village of Grindelwald lies between the two later ski areas at an altitude of 1034 meters.

out of the 214 km of runs, 80 are blue, 106 red and 28 blacks Grindelwald- Wengen ski area, aka Kleine Schidegg- Manlichen ski area, is built like a circle of runs around the Manlichen- Lauberhorn ridge, and we recommend it to intermediate skiers.

This ski area is charming, and you can see mountain trains while you ski at the feet of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.

You can also ski-in to the pedestrian village of Wengen.

The whole area looks like a living real size electric toy train model.

Kleine Scheidegg is a train station in the mid of the ski area at the altitude of 2061 meters.

From here you can take the highest train line in Europe that travel to the top of Europe, the most famous observatory in Europe.

You can buy the “Top of Europe” ticket for 61 CHF, which is about half the regular price if you purchase skipass for three or more consecutive days.
“Top of Europe” is the most famous observatory in Europe, which take you to the best spot watching Aletsch- Jungfrau region. Europe first UNESCO world natural heritage site.
This attraction is much more than an observatory. It has many attractions like the ice palace, an ice sculptures Museum, that in itself curved in Ice. Plan at least half a day for the visit. ”

One of the past cons of the Grindelwald- Wengen ski area is that it was quite a long journey to get from the village to the ski area, but since the opening of the Eiger Express tricable gondola in 2021, the time to get from Grindelwald to the Eiger Glacier base is faster by 45 minutes than before, with the traditional trains, and now take only 15 minutes in this state of the art gondola.

In addition to that, the lift company built a fantastic terminal, with shops, restaurants and two ski depot locations

Together in the same terminal is the valley station of the new Mannlichen gondola.

Under all of this are a train station and indoor parking. The 1000 places parking generate RQ code enabling you to go in and out of the parking as much as you want during the parking booking period.

The first ski area is the area north of Grindelwald and where you can find the beginners’ slope and the longest toboggan run in the world, with a length of 15km.

It also has the most amazing views in our opinion and usually gets more sun than the other ski areas in the Jungfrau region.

The 3rd ski area is called Murren- Schilthorn and is quite a long journey from Grindelwald. In this ski area, you will have the highest pick in the skipass, Piz Gloria, at the altitude of 2970 meters, and is famous because of the James Bond movie “in her majesty’s secret service.”

There is a whole James Bond world over there and many interactive attractions and authentic props.

at the top, you can find the 1st revolving restaurant ever build on a mountain pick, and how cool you’ll feel asking the bartender for “Martini, shaken, not stirred.”

This pick also has a cliff walk of itself.

The snow here is the best in the Jungfrau region because of the high altitude, especially during the late season.

You can reach Murren only by cable car, and it sits at the bottom of the ski area and above a huge cliff.

The village of Grindelwald is the largest in the area and is a centre of winter sports and mountaineering.

Grindelwald kept the traditional look. The height difference of more than 3 km between the village and Eiger is spectacular!
